Are you using isis, ftools, and ciao in the same environment?  Do you
have problems reading the file in a new window with just isis
configured?  Did you upgrade cfitsio after installing isis?
Unfortunately, cfitsio releases are not binary compatible with
previous cfitsio releases and for that reason, I do not recommend
building a shared version of the library.  If your problems persist,
please make a copy of the file available to me so I can test it
against the cfitsio module.
